Privacy Policy — SP Reveal
Last updated: February 2026
SP Reveal (“the extension”) is a browser add‑on designed to improve productivity when working with SharePoint lists and items. This privacy policy explains what information the extension collects, how it is used, and how your data is protected.
1. Data Collection
SP Reveal does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.
The extension does not:
- collect browsing history
- collect user identifiers
- collect login information
- send data to external servers
- track usage
- use analytics or telemetry
All processing happens locally in the user’s browser.
2. Use of Permissions
SP Reveal does not request any optional or sensitive browser permissions.
The extension operates entirely using built‑in browser capabilities and the static content script defined in the manifest. No additional Chrome permissions (tabs, storage, scripting, clipboardWrite, etc.) are required or requested.
SP Reveal runs only on SharePoint pages because of its content_scripts matching patterns, not because of host permissions.
3. Data Usage
The extension interacts only with the current SharePoint page that the user is viewing, and only when the user performs an action in the extension UI.
Information such as list metadata, field labels, and item values is:
- accessed only when triggered by the user,
- used exclusively to generate URLs, internal names, or item metadata,
- processed locally,
- never logged, stored, or transmitted.
The extension does not modify SharePoint content except when the user explicitly uses the Duplicate Item feature, which employs standard SharePoint REST APIs and requires normal SharePoint permissions the user already has.
4. Data Storage
No SharePoint data or personal data is stored locally or remotely.
5. Third‑Party Sharing
SP Reveal does not share data with:
- third parties
- external APIs
- analytics platforms
- advertisers
There are no trackers or external network requests of any kind.
6. Security
Because all operations are performed locally:
- no external transmission reduces exposure risk
- no data leaves the browser
- SP Reveal cannot access anything the user does not already have permission to access inside SharePoint
- the extension cannot see or access pages outside SharePoint
- all SharePoint requests respect the user’s existing authentication
